Can't make the event? We'd truly appreciate your donation. Every little bit helps!
We are also looking for sponsorships to offset the costs of production. Sponsorships help us maximise the funding that gets to Hackney Night Shelter.
it's simple
A Song for a Shelter began in January 2020 with a simple idea: bring the community together for an unforgettable night of music, and channel that energy into supporting Hackney Night Shelter—a charity that has provided warmth, safety, and support to people experiencing homelessness for more than 25 years
we all need
What started as a local fundraiser quickly grew into one of the most anticipated annual events in Victoria Park Village. Each year, renowned performers and beloved local artists donate their time and talent to fill St. John of Jerusalem Church with music, generosity, and hope. Past lineups have featured Tom Odell, Josie Lawrence, Josh Widdicombe, and a rotating cast of exceptional London musicians—each contributing to a night that sells out year after year.
community
Since its launch, A Song for a Shelter has raised thousands of pounds to help Hackney Night Shelter continue its vital work offering emergency accommodation, meals, and pathways to long-term stability for people across the borough.
Now entering its 6th year
This year's event promises to be another extraordinary evening of performance and community spirit.
Hackney Night Shelter provides safe, welcoming emergency accommodation and long-term support for people experiencing homelessness across the borough.
For more than 25 years, the charity has worked alongside local volunteers, faith communities, and partner organisations to offer not just a bed for the night, but meals, compassion, casework, and pathways into stable housing and employment.
Their work restores dignity, rebuilds lives, and strengthens the community we all share.
